Scorching hot Tattershall Classic

It was the hottest day of the year so far and there were plenty of hot bikes to keep the temperature up at the second no-fees, invitation-only Classic Racing Motorcycle Show and Demonstration at Tattershall Karting Centre, Lincolnshire, on Saturday, June 29.

This gentleman’s day out, in memory of Roger Windley who owned Tattershall Karting Centre, was by kind permission of his widow Ann.

**Ivor Coulam of Lincoln displays Hailwood tribute Honda 250-4 using 1983 MC14 250 Honda-4 engine, and 1966 49cc Itom two-stroke single.**

The event was organised by former motorcycle dealer Martyn Bland (whose business is now Alan Cox Motorcycles, in Grantham), and Mark Boswell of the Velocette Owners Club.

Andrew Ellis with nine sets of Barry Sheene leathers (1974-1981) from his collection of 14 Sheene sets. Andrew displayed the leathers and Sheene picture collection in the Tattershall canteen. He is anxious to keep the memory of the double world 500cc champion (1976-1977) alive.

More than 70 competition bikes were on site, many being taken for a canter out on the kart track. They ranged from 50cc and pre-war race bikes through to MV Agustas and four-cylinder Yamaha two-stroke Grand Prix bikes.
