As we all can appreciate, a motorcycle part designed to be kicked and spending its life in an area likely to be covered in road muck or mud and such, like in the case of an off-roadster, is likely to wear out. The kickstart fits most Villiers models as it is available to fit the 3⁄4in and 5⁄8in shaft models of Villiers engines. Cost is £55 plus postage and VAT.
Second product from the same company is a piston kit for Villiers 31A through to 37A and it contains – naturally enough – a piston, rings, gudgeon pin and circlips or, in other words, everything needed to rebore your Villiers engine except for the actual rebore bit, though Villiers Services can do that for you too.
So if your Villiers is smoking a bit, gasping when you open the throttle or just making a rattling noise then it could be time to investigate these piston kits and replace the worn out old one before something terrible happens.
