Ealing Council blames Government cutbacks for financial threat to London Motorcycle Museum

It seems only yesterday that the London Motorcycle Museum was celebrating its new display of the Derek Minter trophy collection which includes no fewer than 14 TT replicas. Thanks to financial assistance from the British Motorcycle Charitable Trust (see feature on pages 38-39) display cabinets were installed to show off the trophies, while the rest of the area was themed as a cafe from the 1950s-60s era.

Bill Crosby is perhaps better known as the proprietor of Reg Allen (London) but he’s also the founder of the museum and, despite being in his eighties, still its driving force.

The story of how the museum came about is long and complicated, but stems from Bill having lost a leg in a motorcycle accident after completing his National Service.
