Agricultural it wasn’t – farmer Jack’s Zundapp-Arrow special
Jack Piper explains the technicalities to seated Motor Cycle staffman Peter Fraser.
There’s been quite a bit about BSA/Ariel two-stroke specials in Old Bike Mart lately, but one of the best-looking of them all was a Zundapp/Arrow special put together by Hampshire farmer Jack Piper and tried out by Motor Cycle staffman Peter Fraser in 1965.
When you think about how some of us moan about new and used bike prices, Peter’s introduction gave me quite a chuckle. “If you scan the prices of new and used models nowadays, you could be excused for thinking that a bank balance well into the three-figure bracket is necessary before the open road comes within your reach.”
