A civilised do at the Highlands

Demob Runners with demobbed Vulcan bomber

For the first time the entry criteria has been widened to include all machines made before 1950 as previously the cut-off was at 1930. After the Second World War the rush was on to get mobile using whatever was available on two or three wheels and the Scottish Demob subscribes to exactly the same principles. The route will be over 70 miles with an informal stop-over at lunchtime. It will be a very relaxed affair with an excellent route and plenty of time to socialise.

The Demob is being organised by Auld Reekie Edinburgh Section of the Vintage Motorcycle Club and is part of the Club’s drive in Scotland to encourage usage of the older classes of motorcycle. If you fancy getting Demob happy just contact recruiting sergeant George Plumb for an entry form by telephone on 0131 333 3336 or via: [email protected]. Day membership of the VMCC is available so the club can meet event insurance requirements.
