Lampkin takes the high road

Graham Lampkin getting some training in for his off-road adventure

Most people heading for June’s Shetland Classic Motor Show will be taking to main roads on a modern bike. But Graham plans to travel on either his BSA or Royal Enfield, off road as much as possible, and is raising money for Cancer Research UK.

Graham, who lives in Colne, Lancashire, decided on the challenge in a “moment of madness” following a suggestion by his daughter. The show takes place over June 5-10, and includes a public exhibition from June 7-8. BSA works legend Arthur Lampkin has also endorsed the trip.

Normally a 346 mile trip to the Aberdeen ferry by road, the off-road version will be longer and he needs help and local off-road expertise.
