The Morgan Three Wheeler Club has been forced to cancel the Saturday Morgan Sweeps the Board Event and Sunday Club Sprint at Curborough Sprint Course, on 6 and 7 June due to circumstances outside its control.
Shenstone & District Car Club which operates Curborough informed the Morgan Three Wheeler Club on 27 May that it had made a serious booking error resulting in two events being scheduled for the same dates. We sought an urgent review of their decision on 28 May, which failed to reinstate our booking. Without a venue for our two-day ACU permitted event we had no alternative but to cancel the whole weekend. Shenstone and District Club have admitted the situation has been caused wholly by their error and that the potential compensation for the other commercial hirer was not something they could manage easily.
Shenstone’s chairman has written: “We wish it could be different and the Morgan Three Wheelers are the sort of organisation we want to support. I can only apologise for how badly we have let you down. I wish it could be different.”

While we understand this news may be disappointing for participants, exhibitors, sponsors, traders and visitors. Our highest priority has been ensuring that everyone planning to attend is informed of the cancellation as quickly as possible, given the extensive promotion and advertising undertaken prior to the event.
Tony Quinn, one of the event’s organisers said,
“We are absolutely devastated. A vast amount of work has gone into organising this exceptional event with over 30 historic competition Morgans promised for the Saturday and a bumper entry of 36 competitors on the Sunday. We know many members were looking forward to the event and already have made plans.
“We have made every effort to inform anyone likely to attend but, given the extremely short notice, it is likely that some people may go to Curborough and be disappointed for which the MTWC offers its sincere apologies.”
