Trust fund campaign launched for Dan Hegarty’s sons after tragic Macau crash

A JustGiving crowdfunding campaign has been launched to create a trust fund for the sons of late British Superbike rider Daniel Hegarty after it was revealed that his family has been unable to claim insurance since his death while riding his Top Gun Racing Honda in the Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix last November.

The 31-year-old from Nottingham died on the way to hospital after coming off at a sharp bend on the sixth lap, crashing into barriers and losing his helmet.

On the JustGiving page, his brother Joe said: “Daniel was a talented, committed motorcycle racer but firstly and always a devoted father to his young sons, 10-year-old Evan and Flynn,
aged three.
