Everything from Winged Wheel to full-fat Harleys at DA&H Sledmere House auction

Motorcycles for sale at Dee Atkinson and Harrison’s latest Classic Car & Motorcycle auction at Sledmere House on July 7 – held in glorious weather after the previous sale had been caught in the ‘Beast from the East’ snowstorm – ranged from a lowly BSA Winged Wheel at £630 and a 1947 Dot truck project at £1087, to a full fat 1982 Harley-Davidson FLT Road King, unused for many years since being imported from South Africa, at £3565 and a 1954 BSA M33 that went to Eire at £3335.

One really worthwhile project with a great patina was this lovely plunger-framed BSA single – and it certainly looks as if everything is there.

Eighty per cent of the 55 machines offered were sold, including a 1946 Norton project at £1,725, a 1977 Kawasaki Z750 at £2875, a well-restored Harley Davidson Electra Glide at £9200, a 2007 Royal Enfield Bullet combination at £4425 and a 1977 Norton Commando Mk III at £6675.

Other top bids were £18,975 for a 1959 500cc BSA Gold Star with matching numbers – unsold in the snow – and £16,675 for a 1985 Yamaha RD500C1.
