Dust-covered classics in amazing barn find

It almost makes you cry to look at them, but on Sunday, June 17 the Charterhouse auction of motorcycles and cars, being held in conjunction with that weekend’s Footman James Bristol Classic Car Show at the Royal Bath & West Showground at Shepton Mallet, will include a single-owner collection of barn-stored motorcycles.

‘Fizzies’ have been fetching sky-high prices recently, so this 1977 Yamaha FS1-E will almost certainly find a buyer.

“The collection certainly puts a slant on the term barn-fresh,” said the auctioneers’ Matthew Whitney. “Over the past few decades the owner has bought, ridden and then put dozens of motorcycles into the barn, and has now decided it’s time to have a sort-out and free up more space.”
