Carole Nash Bristol Classic Show 2019

Thanks to a short delay due to inclement climatic conditions, Dave Manning heads south, and west, to Shepton Mallet.

With 2019 being the show’s 39th year, the Bristol Classic saw a delay of three weeks thanks to serious snowfall on the morning of the original set-up day, preventing not only any kind of movement on the Shepton Mallet showground site, but creating severe havoc on the roads in the south-west.

The New Imperial ‘Nash Racer’ – holder of multiple records, and of just 123cc capacity.

A flurry of phone calls prevented most show attendees from making an unnecessary journey, with the return date being set for three weeks later.

Sunshine and autojumbles, what more is there to life?

The result of the delay was a weekend of truly astounding springtime weather, good humour and stunning classic motorcycles.

Time was, the Shepton Mallet Show had a massive custom contingent, and was heralded as being the first big custom bike show of the year.

This fell by the wayside in the late Nineties, with the focus remaining purely on the classic side of two-wheeling, a remit to which it still adheres.
