Relatively speaking

I have been meaning to write in to OBM to see if anyone can assist with the enclosed picture. I think it’s quite atmospheric and most definitely my favourite old family picture.

Relatively speaking

The image is of my grandfather on his bike outside his house in Liscard, Wallasey, on the Wirral. A close inspection shows my grandmother peeping through the curtains. There is still a family connection to the house as my aunt lives there.

I am fairly certain the bike is a Triumph but, not being knowledgeable on such machines, I have never been able to really decide what model it actually is and would like to know if anyone can help.
