A Bullet for everyone

Backbone of the company for many years - the 350cc Classic.
Did you know that despite the fact that Royal Enfield production in the UK ceased in 1970, the India factory has been turning out the Bullet since 1955. What’s more, it’s spending a lot of money on the factory, and the product, which improves year on year. The factory currently produces 36,000 per year and the UK is the biggest export market. The venerable Bullet can boast being the longest production motorcycle ever and, courtesy of importers and distributors Watsonian Squire, there are more models available today than ever before, indeed there are no less than 18, if you count the four Highway kitted machines. So let’s have a look what’s on offer.
Starting at entry level, there’s the well loved, traditional 350cc classic with its black painted cycle parts and valanced mudguards. It’s being slowly phased out but has still benefitted from over 100 development upgrades over the past five years.
It is kick-start only and retails at £295 on the road, which includes delivery to your dealer, first registration fee, road tax, number plates and 12 months recovery scheme.

Electra 500T.
The 350 is also available in the ‘trials’ specification. Now whilst not purporting to be an actual trials iron, its silver painted fuel tank, alloy mudguards, single sprung saddle, upswept silencer, wide handlebars, sump guard and knobbly tyres make it a perfect tool for a bit of gentle green laning, or for pottering around some of the less well maintained back roads. The 350T retails at £2995. Both these machines are available with the 500cc engine too, with the option of the electric start if required. There’s also an option for a 21in front wheel. Prices for the kickstart models are £2995 and £3450 respectively with the electric leggers costing £3150 and £3650.
Something a little bit different is the 500cc Army model. Based on the Indian Army version, it sports khaki painted cycle parts and engine cases, but has the benefit of the five-speed gearbox, electric starter, heavy duty rack, ‘ammo box’ panniers, and crash bars. Price is £3495.
