Classic and Vintage Day
The Greeves Riders Association Cambridge section has a Classic and Vintage motorcycle day at the Cambridge Museum of Technology, Cheddars Lane, Cambridge, on 29 June. Open to exhibitors from 11am and the public from 2pm-5pm, all makes of classic and vintage machines are welcome. Note: there will be no rideout this year. Further details from John Wakefield

Big Frank’s 50th
Douglas marque specialist Frank Dolman, president of the London Douglas MCC, successfully completed his 50th Pioneer Run recently, on his 1912 2 3/4hp Ladies Model Douglas, which he acquired and undertook his first Pioneer Run when he was just 18 years old. Congratulations Frank.

International Benelli Gathering
The 14th International Benelli Gathering, over 13/15 June, is at Lieren, near Apeldoorn, Netherlands. It’s at a camp site ‘De Vinkenkamp, Vinkenkamp 10 – 7364 CD Lieren (Beekbergen). The weekend, including barby, two nights and two breakfasts is just 31 Euros. What’s more, if you only call in for the day, it’ll cost you just one Euro and that includes a coffee! Greedy Pigs show and rally
The Greedy Pigs MCC have a charity motorcycle show lined up for 28 June, at Moorville Hall, Leek Road, Cellar Head, Staffs, starting at 12 noon. It is in aid of a charity called the Andy Taft Charitable Trust which supports the provision of immediate pre-hospital care to persons involved in road accidents and promotes safe riding through public initiatives and rider training – see www.andytaft.org.uk. There will be the motorcycles on show of course, plus a disco and band, raffle, trade stalls, fashion show of motorcycle clothing, awards for concours and an advanced motorcycle trainer available for advice. Classic and Rotary Rally
Gawthorpe Hall, Padiham, Burnley, BB12 8UA, is the place to be on Sunday 15 June, for the Classic and Vintage Rally and Rotary Enthusiasts Day. It runs from 12.30pm-4.30pm and it’s free to enter, though there will be a reduced rate of £3 for rider and passenger to visit the hall between 1pm-4.30pm. Last year’s gathering saw 23 rotary Nortons, over 70 general classics, a brace of Morgan trikes and more than 1400 people in attendance. Triumph rally
Triumph enthusiasts gather at Woodhall Spa’s Bainland Country Park for the Triumph Owners MCC annual rally, over the weekend 9-12 May. Organised by local branch ‘Missing Lincs’, who are keen to prove how much the county has to offer. Entertainment on Friday night is a real Skiffle group.
Saturday sees a run across the Wolds then on to Gainsborough for a Civic Reception at the 14th century Old Hall, before riding on to Lincoln. On arrival back at Bainland there’s a Battle of Britain Memorial Flight flypast. Evening entertainment is provided by a seven piece R&B band. Sunday starts with a concours line-up, followed by a ride past Cadwell en-route to the coast to sample Lincolnshire’s fish & chips. There’s another BBMF flypast in the afternoon and the rally concludes with entertainment from The Back Street Blues Band on Sunday evening.Details

Sunderland change of venue
Take note, the Seaburn Show, on 8 June, has been forced to change venues. It will now be known as the North East Aircraft Museum Show, Old Washington Road, Sunderland, SR5 3HZ (next to Nissan). Pre-booked camping for exhibitors from 3pm Friday 6 June. There is a £10 booking fee which will be offset with vouchers to spend in the entertainment tent or against club regalia or membership. All vehicles entered must be registered before 1983. Entries on site by 11am sharp, none after that time. No vehicle movement on site between 11am and 5pm. Hesketh OC
David Sharp is the new PRO for the Hesketh OC and is looking to raise the profile of the club a little. There is a good back-up from the club and Mick Broom Engineering still manufactures, repairs and upgrades Hesketh Motorcycles so they are a very useable classic sports tourer – they go well and sound fantastic. Bristol Cavalcade
The ever active Douglas Club have their popular, annual Bristol Cavalcade organised for the weekend of Sunday 25/Monday 26 May, at the Kingswood Heritage Museum, Bristol. This is one of the largest gatherings of Bristol built Douglas machines and includes a rideout on
the Saturday.
