We're all different...
WELL, there’s no doubt about it, the new look Old Bike Mart has certainly had an effect on the postbox. Some like it, some don’t, some like parts of it and then again some dislike other parts. I think if we’d come out and said that a certain bike – and no I’m not going to pick out a make – was the ultimate vintage, veteran or classic we’d have caused less fuss than altering the ‘paper’, ‘book’, ‘comic’ or whatever term you describe OBM by.

After nearly 15 years of US ownership, Norton, the quintessential and most famous of British motorcycle brands returns home. As a result of prolonged negotiations and a multi-million pound deal the Norton motorcycle brand is back in British hands.

Stuart Garner a UK based businessman and owner of Norton Racing Ltd has bought back all the trademarks and development work relating to the Norton, Manx, Atlas, Commando and Dominator brands. Norton Racing Ltd is already in development of a new rotary-engined race bike and now with the ownership of the brand itself plans are being developed to introduce a new road bike for 2009.

Victor covers plenty of miles on the TC200.

Some people don’t get on with two-strokes, with their buzzy motors, clouds of smoke and the ear piercing screams that accompany the quest for speed. Even Victor, owner of this little Suzuki admitted that he’s not overly fond of them. It begs the question then, why did he buy it?

“I was at this chap’s house, looking for some BSA bits when I saw it. I like ‘different’ bikes, so I just bought it.”.

Acorn Classics had an eclectic mix of bikes on their stand.

Wow, what a weekend as crowds flock to the Stafford County Showground to experience everything that the 15th Classic and Motorcycle Mechanics Show had to offer.

Attendances were up on the days as classic motorcycle enthusiasts of all types enjoyed the good weather of mid-October and also proved that this area of classic motorcycling is the growth area.
